Sjur Linberg

Sjur Linberg is co-founder of the architectural practice, which was established as Barker & Linberg in 1981. Prior to starting his own business he worked for 10 years in Bermuda at the Marshall, Bernardo Partnership, five of those years in the capacity of associate.

During his years at MBP he worked on a variety of projects including Grotto Bay Hotel, numerous office buildings, supermarkets and residential project from individual homes to condominium developments in the capacity of project architect with full responsibility from inception to completion of the projects.

In his own practice, he has been responsible for many of the firms major projects, such as the West End Development Plan 1983 which was a Master Planning exercise to rejuvenate the old Naval Dockyard in Bermuda; numerous office buildings and mixed use office/retail complexes; supermarkets; multi-family residential developments and individual homes, including two major luxury homes in Tucker鈥檚 Town; a city apartment complex; and currently two major office buildings in Hamilton.

Mr. Linberg is involved in some capacity with most of the firm鈥檚 projects through the design process to completion.

Gary Simmons

Gary Simmons has been a partner at the architectural practice since 1995, and commenced his employment with Barker & Linberg in 1989. Prior to his return to Bermuda in 1989 he worked for Sgagliotti Associates in Salem, Massachusetts.

He has been involved in several of the firm鈥檚 major projects including Magnolia Towers, Seon Place, Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute, Washington Properties, Crown House, Multi-Family Residential Developments and private homes.

Much of his career has been focused on multi-family residential developments including works prior to the completion of his education which include the following:
路Preliminary Design of 40 unit detached house development in Rhode Island while working for Raymond Construction in Bristol, Rhode Island.
路Architectural Thesis: In depth study of low and moderate income family housing including the design of 90 units of moderate income family housing and parkland.

Current & Recent Residential Projects:

路Architect and part of development team for 5 luxury residential units on the waterfront of Boss鈥檚 Cove, Pembroke.

路Architect for 20 luxury residential units at Honey Hill in Paget for Mr. Kirk Kitson.

路Partner in charge of Ship鈥檚 Hill villas and townhouse for Tucker鈥檚 Point Club.

路Architect for four luxury residential units at South Road, Warwick.

路Major Luxury home in New Brunswick, Canada

路Several luxury homes in Bermuda at various stages of design, construction or completion.

路Preliminary design of 65 unit apartment building in Hamilton.
